We are currently offering discounts for early bookings, what does that mean?                        Well if you want to save 20% on your reservation please book 2 months or more in advance  you will get a much better price and 20 % is deducted off our peak rate we will beat anyone's price as long as it is comparable to our homes and have lowered our daily stays to $175.00 Monday through Thursday  stays only for four guest. Why? because we care.

  Our guests enjoy the close proximity to an abundance of outdoor recreation within the log homes' aesthetic surroundings. The property is nestled adjacent to state-owned land that offers calming walks through the woods, and room for family-gatherings around a bonfire. Firewood is available for purchase. A list of resources is provided to our guests of nearby facilities including maps of places to go and things to do while you are on vacation. While fine dining and lake access can be found within 100 yards of your front door at www.springersonthelake.com , the property offers the seclusion necessary for a daily, weekly or weekend stay of wooded privacy amongst its natural surroundings.

Term: Kegonsa (lake) [origin of place name]

Definition:

Kegonsa, in Chippewa, is gigonsag (little fish or minnows). "na-sa-koo-cha-tel-a," a Winnebago word meaning "hard maple grove lake." Obtained from Oliver Lemere from Henry Wite, an Indian, whose father once resided in the vicinity of Madison." Corruption of gigosensag = "lake of small fishes." gigosens = "a small fish" gigosensag = "small fishes" gee-go-sug = "little fishes" kigonsas = a little fish (Potawatomi) About 1855 the name Kegonsa, meaning fish, was proposed by Dr. Lyman C. Draper for the 1st of the four lakes. Bill passed by legislature Feb. 14th, 1855 legalized the name.
